Dear host family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Crystal Lewis. I am 23 years of age and I'm from Jamaica in the parish of Clarendon, I am living in a house with my extended family, that is located in an area full of nature beside an animal farm that i help out with at times.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I'm understanding, loving, caring and passionate about my work, I love love kids and always will put their needs above mine and taking care of them will always be my top priority. I am very organized, discipline and I'm very respectful of boundaries and privacy. I'm very keen and attentive and I adapt to my surroundings very quickly.
I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping or dance. Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies and I am also teaching young children at my sister's basic school. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing ,playing video games and watching television.
For the past 7 years, I took care of children of all ages from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. When my sister was younger, I also took care of her, when our mum was working. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can't imagine a life without them.
The reason why I want to go to the USA as an au pair is that I want to get to know the American way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well as to further my nursing career.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
