Dear host families,
My name is Riccardo, I'm 24 years old and I'm currently being a BroPair in Indiana, US. August 31st is the end of my first year and I wish I can stay here for one more.
I'm from Villanova, a tiny town in the middle of Italy, about 2 hours away from Bologna.
Since I was 15 I babysat my two cousins in Sardinia for the entire summer: when I did it the first time they were 4 and 7 and from there I felt like staying with kids was really challenging but at the same time the best feeling in the world; from 2013 I babysat Luca and Christian every summer until I've graduated as a pastry chef in 2018.

I've always loved cooking and in my country is such a big thing. It has been almost 4 years since I left my dad's house to live by my self: in this period of time, I've learned how to clean my house and how to take care about my diet so I've started cooking everyday and every meal at home in order to improve my skills and to eat some healthy food. I love cooking, specially for other people so we can share recipes and new flavors!

Now, it has been 6 months that I'm a BroPair in the United States and I love taking care of Augustus: he's a 4 years old tiny human that is always reaching for your attentions. I love him and I feel like we're gonna be brothers for the rest of our lives. In August he's gonna turn 5 and he will go to school: for me, that means that my actual host family doesn't need me anymore on the next year. I'm pretty sure that the goodbye it's gonna be a tough moment for me. My host family has always been happy about me and the way I work: feel free to contact them to ask them anything about me!

Speaking of which, I'm a smiling person always trying to be positive because there's nothing better than being happy! I think I have a pretty open mind and I always look for people that have the same energies and the same vibes that I have because I want to enjoy my life and discover new things, new places and meet new people. I do love kids and what I love the most about them is their different vision of the world and the genuine meanings they give to little things in life, which is what adults forget sometimes.

Even if my parents divorced many years ago, I think we are a great family; Federico is my big brother, he's 29 and we have a special link: we could understand each other without speaking at all. I share almost all my passions with him and he's my bestfriend.
Cristina is my mother: she's 55 and lives in the north of Italy, pretty close to Venice; we see each other every 2 weeks but she's the one I would call for any big problem. I love her and I'm really lucky to have her as my mom.
Last but not least Ermes, my dad: he's 58 and I grow up with him and my brother. He is such a great man, very polite and he has always time to help everyone: I'm really inspired from his personality and his determination. I love him too and, as my mother, he did a lot of hardships for me and Federico to help us grow easily and happy and I'm really grateful for this.

My hobbies are skateboarding, cooking and playing instruments: I can play guitar, bass guitar and drums. When I'm not working, I always try to fill my day up as much as I can: I usually skate 3 or 4 times a week, go out with my friends almost everyday and, by the time that I'm here, I play volleyball Ince a week. I love music and everything about it. When I'm home and I want to relax a little bit I like to play the guitar and sing. I don't know what my life would have been without music...

I have an Italian driving license since 2017 and an American one. I drive everyday to drop off and pick up Augustus from school or swimming lessons, which means I drive from 2 to 4 hours everyday. I love driving and this doesn't bother me at all.
In my opinion an host family who chooses to apply to the program and let someone else take care of their children must have an open mind and a big sense of trust which is what I'm looking for and what I believe in.
I love to share with others what I'm passionate about and I think it could be a good way to teach and play with the kids and interact with them: It also could be fun to teach them some Italian words! For example, Augustus already knows all the color and some there random words.
