Introduction

My name is Nailus, but you can call me Lisa. I was born on May 13, 2002, and I am the youngest of five siblings. Growing up in a big family taught me how to care for others, be patient, and share with kindness values that I believe are very important in becoming a good au pair.
One of my favorite hobbies is playing a farm simulation game called Harvest Moon. It might sound simple, but through it I developed a love for nature, plants, and the peaceful rhythm of caring for living things. This small passion eventually grew into a bigger interest in biology, and I decided to study it at university. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, where I also gained experience as a biochemistry practical assistant. In that role, I guided students during lab work, prepared materials, and learned how to communicate patiently and clearly, skills that I believe will help me greatly as an au pair.
I would describe myself as a friendly, responsible, and highly motivated person. During high school, I was entrusted to lead my school’s Geography Club, where I organized activities and competitions. I also took part in the Japanese Literature Club, helping to plan cultural events. These experiences taught me teamwork, leadership, and how to adapt to different personalities—qualities that I hope to bring into your home as part of your family.
Books also play a big part in my life. The first novel I ever read was Negeri 5 Menara (The Land of Five Towers), and it deeply inspired me. The story encourages young people to dream big, travel, and bring positive change back to their homeland. Since then, I’ve held on to a quote from the book: “Merantaulah, kau akan mendapat pengganti kerabat dan teman. Berlelah-lelahlah, manisnya hidup terasa setelah lelah berjuang.” It means, “Go abroad, and you will find new family and friends. Work hard, for life’s sweetness comes after effort.” I want to become an au pair to grow, learn, and challenge myself while creating meaningful connections abroad.
I’m also inspired by my favorite quote: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayers, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” This reminds me to stay faithful and optimistic, no matter how difficult the journey is.
As a person, I’m gentle, calm, and easy to get along with. I love spending time with children because they bring warmth and honesty to every moment. I enjoy helping them learn new things, whether it’s through stories, creative activities, or simply spending quality time together. I’m also open-minded and respectful toward different traditions, and I’m excited to share my own culture and language with your family while learning yours in return.
Through this au pair cultural exchange program, I hope to become more independent, improve my language skills, and gain a deeper understanding of everyday life in another country. I believe this experience will not only allow me to help your family but also shape me into a more caring, confident, and mature person. After returning home, I wish to use all I’ve learned abroad to contribute positively to my community in Indonesia.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my introduction. I’m truly looking forward to becoming part of your family, helping with your children, and creating beautiful memories together.
Warm regards,
Nailus (Lissa)
