I’m so happy to finally introduce myself to you through this letter. I can already imagine how
wonderful it would be to become a part of your family and share little moments together.
My name is Shaqia Maulidiva, I’m 23 years old and come from the beautiful country of
Indonesia. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Universitas
Raden Rahmat and currently work as a freelancer.
I was born in Jakarta but grew up in Malang — two cities that taught me warmth, kindness, and
the joy of togetherness. I come from a loving Chinese-Indonesian family. My father works as a
private employee, and my mother is a homemaker. I’m the eldest of four siblings, and being
the oldest has naturally made me caring and responsible. I love spending time with my younger
brother and sisters — whether it’s helping them with homework, playing games, or cooking
something sweet together.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have enjoyed Indonesian traditional dance and love expressing
myself through movement and culture. In my free time, I enjoy baking, traveling, and visiting
historical places like temples or old towns. Those small adventures always remind me how big
the world is and how much there is to learn from it.
My experience with children started early at home and continued when I helped my aunt, who is
a private tutor. I often assisted her during lessons and sometimes cared for the children she
taught. I still remember how happy I felt when one of the kids I looked after learned to read a
short story for the first time. Those moments taught me patience, empathy, and the joy of seeing
children grow and discover new things.
People often describe me as gentle, patient, and trustworthy. I like to keep things organized
and always try to see the bright side of any situation. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get
comfortable, I open up easily and enjoy connecting with others — especially children.
Becoming an Au Pair in Belgium is truly a dream for me. Belgium’s beautiful mix of cultures,
languages, and history has always fascinated me. I want to experience daily life in a European
family, improve my language skills, and learn how parents in Belgium nurture their children with
love and independence.
Through this program, I hope to grow as a person — to be more independent, adaptable, and
confident. Most of all, I hope to build a warm relationship with my future host family, where we
can share laughter, support one another, and create memories that last a lifetime.
