Dear future host family,
My name is Areta. I'm really excited to introduce myself to your family.
I love to spend time with children, getting to know new people and I love learning new cultures such as traditional beliefs and manners, language, and other cultural things while sharing my own.

Choosing the au pair program is a deeply personal decision for me. I do not want to be just a tourist. Having a family abroad would be a wonderful experience people would want to feel and some are lucky enough to do so. Having parents that would teach me their cultures, having host siblings with whom I can share awesome journeys and create lifelong memories together as family, things we can only get in a family, not something that we can get from just travelling.

I have extensive childcare experience that has taught me understanding, safety, and creativity. Over the past years I have babysat for my neighbors’ children, who are now ages 5 and 6. I also have a younger sister who is now 12. Because both of my parents worked full-time, I played a big role in taking care of her throughout her childhood. My responsibilities included preparing snacks and meals, helping the children with school homework, organizing outdoor games, and keeping them company with engaging, creative activities. Beyond childcare, I spent two years in high school volunteering for our Student Representative Council, a Christian community group, and an outdoor nature club. These roles involved organizing large events, mentoring younger students, and coordinating with alumni.

I love hiking, camping, playing the acoustic guitar, and teaching myself new instruments. I look forward to sharing these passions with my future host family to create memories together or teaching each other new things.

Living away from home during camping trips and school adventures has made me independent, highly adaptable, and resourceful. I also hold a valid driver's license and have safely driven a scooter for over five years, which has given me an excellent sense of road awareness and traffic safety.
