Hello! I hope you and your family are doing well.
My name is Anindy, but you can call me Anin. I am 21 years old and come from Indonesia, currently living in Bandung. I am a Sociology Education university student, and I am writing to express my sincere interest in becoming part of your family as an au pair.
I grew up in a supportive neighbourhood where people care for one another, which shaped me into a patient, responsible, and communicative person. As the second of four siblings, caring for younger children has always been a natural part of my daily life. I am also used to living away from my parents for seven years, which helped me become independent, adaptable, and emotionally mature—qualities that are important when living with a new family in a new country.
I have hands-on experience caring for children of different age groups. I took care of an infant (0–15 months), handling daily routines such as feeding, bathing, changing nappies, playing, supporting sleep routines, and doing outdoor activities. I also have experience caring for a 10-year-old child, including preparing meals, school pick-ups, helping with homework, accompanying daily activities, and taking him to soccer school.
In addition to childcare, I have one year of experience as an English teacher and tutor, teaching children and teenagers from diverse cultural backgrounds. This experience trained me to be patient, flexible, and understanding of different learning styles, while also building children’s confidence and communication skills.
I am also an active social volunteer, with experience at orphanages (working with children) and nursing homes (supporting elderly people). These activities strengthened my empathy, sense of responsibility, and ability to care for people of different ages with kindness and respect.
Personally, I am calm, caring, and a good listener, yet reliable and firm when it comes to commitment. I value open communication, mutual respect, and healthy problem-solving. I am also a creative and naturally curious person, and I enjoy engaging children in creative activities such as journaling, crafts, storytelling, and simple art projects. I am happy to help with light household tasks, cooking simple home-style meals, and supporting daily family routines.
I believe the au pair programme is a meaningful opportunity to learn a new culture, grow personally, and become part of a family while doing something I truly love—caring for children. I hope to join a host family that values openness, respect, and positive communication, where we can support each other and create a warm home environment together.
