Hello my future host family!

My name is Mila and I am 18 years old girl from Finland. I would describe myself with the words: trustworthy, positive, independent and fun. I have always wanted to be an Au Pair and now I am having a gap year, so I think now it’s the perfect time to experience it.

I have been a babysitter for about half year in a family with six children. The youngest of the children were only two months old and the oldest children were 12 years old. My job as an babysitter included playing with the children outdoors and indoors, I made food for them and helped them to eat, I helped them with their homework and put their outdoor clothes on and I went for stroller walks with the two month old baby. One of them were in fine arts school, so I drove her there with my car. I really enjoyed my babysitter job and I love to work with children. I have also worked with children in elementary school as a substitute teacher. I worked as a teacher for different classes and different age of children. We spent normal school days and for example did crafts and made music. We also studied normal subjects like math and history.

I am outgoing person and I love to spend my free time with my friends and family. My family consist of mother, father and two sisters. One of my sisters is 21 years old and the other one is 15 years old, so I am the middle one. My parents are married and all of us are living together (expect my older sister) in a small city in Finland. My father is an entrepreneur and owns car and housing companies and my mother works for my father. We love to travel together with my family and we have travelled a lot, for which I am very grateful!

I have been in a different work places since I were 11 years old. My first Summer jobs were in a strawberry and ice cream stands and I also worked as an apartment buildings cleaner. I have also worked different customer service jobs, for example in a restaurants and pharmacy. I worked in a pharmacy as a cashier for almost three years and I really liked my job, but I had to quit it before I moved to Greece this Summer. I was working as a waitress in a beach bar in Corfu.

I would love to do different sports with my host children. I have done gymnastics for about seven years and cheerleading almost three years. I love to play different outdoor sports as I said and I love to spend time on the beaches and swimming. I can also do crafts, because I have been in a fine art school! I am very active person and I would love to do different activities with my host children and family and experience your favourite things to do

I think I would be a great Au Pair, because I am very responsible, friendly and I can create a good connection with children. I have a desire to learn new things and I adapt quickly to new situations. Working as an Au Pair is a unique opportunity to experience a new culture, develop language skills and learn valuable skills related to childcare. I would love to help run the family´s everyday life and create a close relationship with the family. I would definitely do well as an Au Pair because of my extensive experience of childcare and my positive personality.
