Dear host family


My name is Valentina Vega I am 19 years old and I live in Bucaramanga with my mother, my father, my grandmother and my pet. My mom is an occupational therapist and my dad is a driver. I am an only child.
We are a very close, sociable and communicative family. My family is so small and I love It.
I have always been surrounded by children in my family, taking care of my cousins, and relatives that I have cared for with all the love in the world. When I was in high school, I had a great advantage in English and I always helped my classmates and even made social hours with the children of lower grades.
I was in several English courses and at the same time I worked taking care of children to also help me pay for my course and help with household expenses. Recently, I started working as a cashier in a store in the mornings, and in the afternoons I'm taking care of a neighbor's daughter.

My family and my friends say that I’m a very motherly, responsible and loving person. I love kids, so this year I decided to fulfill my dream of being an au pair in America. They support my decision and they are very happy for me. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to improve my English, meet your lifestyle, your country which I greatly admire. And what better way than doing what I love!. For me it would be spectacular to share with the children it’s wonderful see them growing up with us and learning, litlle by little, to be more independent.

I have experience with children from newborn to 12 years old, in my first experienc was in a children's home, taking care of about 12 children, with ages between 2-7 years. And many of my experiences have been with the children of neighbors who have heard how loving I am to children, and have all confidence to leave them in my care.

Besides childcare experience, I also love watching movies, traveling and learning about other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends or preparing lunch or dinner with my family or with my friends too!
