Dear host family,

Nice to meet you, my name is María Sofía López Useche, I was born in the city of Bogotá in Colombia, I am 20 years old and I live with my father Alfonso López and his wife Paula García, my older sister and my two little brothers Max and Samanta, all We are very united and they always support me in my decisions, because we like to count on each other. I am very excited to be part of this au pair project, because I have always liked children and exploring different places and meeting people.

Speaking a little more in depth about myself, as I mentioned before I have always been an extrovert, I like all kinds of activities and throw myself into the unknown, I love doing sports like swimming, and weights, in my free time I like to go to the gym because it helps to create a discipline; I almost always listen to music while I write, because one day I would like to write a novel or a diary recounting the adventures of my life. Since I was little I stood out for my communication skills and my writing, I was always very applied and responsible with my studies, since I love to learn; When I left school I studied aesthetics, I get along very well in the beauty area, because I really like artistic makeup and recreating characters from songs with different styles.

The truth is that the Au pair program excites me a lot because I have always understood myself very well with the children and they tend to develop trust with me, when my group went out and I met the group of Children who live there they always invited me to accompany them, like this I myself like to see the affection and tenderness that they express to you, since at some point in my life I would like to be a mother and I know that this experience would be very beneficial.
The first time I took care of Amelia (the first girl I took care of) I felt a little nervous, but I discovered that patience and calm are the key for children, because the best way to take care of them and teach them is with love, since They will treat you that way, because you are their example in their growth. It's funny to remember those moments since she was very active and she always wanted to play with me and do playful activities and movement, most of the time we played in the park with her friends or played board games like lottery.

The space in which I live I always try to keep it tidy, since it stresses me out to see things lying around the room and above all not being able to find them, likewise the details and gifts that my friends give me, I always have them on a shelf because it is very important for me when people around me give me something, a curious fact is that I love collecting keychains from different parts of the world to which family or friends have gone, and I know that one day I will too.

Since I can remember I have been very independent, I like to do things on my own merit, and also learn along the way since asking for help is also part of it.
