I am from China, my name is Yidan . You can call me Olivia. I am 24 years old. My major is Business English, I live in the Middle East of China - Henan. If you come here, you must taste the most famous stewed noodle, it is hot soup with delicious noodles. I believe you'll fall in love with it.
My friends think I am a very outgoing girl. I like to communicate with people, love all kinds of new things, like challenges, like delicious food. When I was in school, I would take part in many activities, sports meetings, English Reading Contest, and singing competitions. I got good grades. During my spare time, I would do part-time jobs during my vacation. Last summer, I worked in a hamburger store and learned to do hamburgers. I was really happy when I was doing hamburgers. Travelling is my greatest interest. When I was 16 years old, I went to Taiwan with my family. We stayed in Taiwan for a week, which impressed me most is the night scenery, the sea and the starry sky is really beautiful! Taiwan has a lot of night markets, where people can eat a lot of delicious food, if I have the chance, I want to go there again. I also remember that we bought beef jerky and pineapple cakes before coming back. And speaking of food, my favorite dish is Sweet and sour fillet of pork, I not only like to taste food, but occasionally like cooking for family, for example, tomato fried eggs, sour and spicy shredded potatoes. In addition, playing piano is one of the things I love. My favorite music is River Flow in You, and I often practice this piece with my sister. I like to read books on rainy days, so reading is also one of my interests. I like a word in the film Titanic. It is, “I love waking up in the morning and not knowing what’s going to happen, or who I’m going to meet, where I’m going to wind up.” I have benefited a lot from this sentence. For me, Whatever happens every day, I want to face the challenge with an unknown attitude.
Speaking of family, I have a big family, my father and mother, my brother, and a twin sister who is just as old as I am. Mom said that when we were born, even she could not distinguish us. From birth to the present, we have hardly separated from each other. Every day we live together, play, have fun things to share together, and sad things will pour out to each other. When I was young, my parents don't allowed me to watch TV, because they think we spend so much time in front of the television set. So every time they went out, my sister and I would secretly stand on the chair to open the door and run out before my parents came back, so every time we watched TV, The two of us will feel very nervous. Dad will put candy under my pillow at Christmas, and my mom will take care of me when I am sick. They have said that whatever difficulties we may encounter in the future, they hope that we will be kind, brave and mercy.
Last summer, I had a new member of my family, my nephew, and his birth is a very happy thing for the whole family. Remember that he was very small at birth and lying in my arms. Watching him grow up, feeling the beauty of the world, I also changed the diapers and fed him. When you take a bath for him, if you see his crying little face, you will know that bathing is the last thing he likes. He can't walk yet, but every time put him on the floor, he stomp his feet excitedly and can't wait to walk. He can eat the supplementary food now, every time I helped him to make a supplementary food, he was particularly excited. His favorite fruit is apple, so every time he eats the apple, he will be happy to wave his little hand. As he grew up slowly, I wish he is happy to spend every day.
I went to the orphanage named Swallow's Nest and took care of the children. When I first went there, I was very nervous and did not know what to do. But with the help of a coworker, I quickly adapted to it. Most of the children were under 2 years old, so feeding, bathing, diaper change became the day work. They are almost all physically defective children, sometimes feeding them to eat is a difficult thing, I have to be patient enough. So I will take their favorite toys so that they can concentrate on their meals. After a long period of getting along with them, we have already been familiar with each other. Sometimes, they ask for my comfort when weeping, and laughing with me when we are happy. They are innocent and they look no different from ordinary healthy children.
My best friend has a nephew, 3 years old, is a very lively little boy, sometime I took him to the playground at the weekend. His favorite game was painting, sometimes it's bad, and he preferred to paint on his face. His favorite food is pizza. Whenever we make pizza at home, he is so excited that he can't wait to put pizza in his mouth. Sometimes when I picked him up from kindergarten, he would show me new knowledge, singing, dancing and so on. He looks so happy.
