Hello, dear Host Family!
My name is Gabriel! I'm 26 years old and I'm an architecture student. I like to make people laugh and I love to sing rsrsrs, my friends often say That I am fun, smiling, determined, patient and optimistic. I live in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro - Serrana Region, here is a good and quiet city, so I love to take the road and drive here.
I'm a big fan of artistic gymnastics, I've been an athlete for 4 years, I'm very focused and determined. I Like to watch science fiction series and movies. About books... I love books, if I could collect them. I have great passion for architecture, I am fascinated por interior design and everything within that area. I like to go out with my friends to the mall or a bar to chat and laugh or go to the park to take pictures, go to the beach/ waterfall or something. I recently discovered that I am great at taking pictures of others, which made me very excited, because I have always admired the work of photography, it is an art. Songs, let me think... I am a pop lover, like: Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and others, in my playlist there is a lot of pop and many brazilian hits.
In my family my mother, aunt and grandmother are great cooks, and I trsrs and I like to cook too, cooking is an art and great to think of different things. I love making sweets, especially pies, one of my favorites is lemon pie with chocolate zest.
I live with my parents and my sister Gabriela. I have a dog and a cat, their name is Bollinha and Ninno, I love my babies very much. My mom loves to talk and cook, she likes to invent new things in the kitchen (and she's a great cook), my dad likes trucks and watch newspaper rsrs (he works with trailers), my sister who lives with us likes to walk, travel and meet new places (she's a business student).
My friends are very important to me, they are always supporting me and helping me, so when they need me, I'm there for them and if I need them, I know they will be there for me. I am very loyal to the people who are in my circle of friendship, the great friendships I have are for years and I always try to be close to these people, it is amazing to have people who root for their progress.
My parents have always taught me that if I want something I have to go after it and fight for it, follow my dreams, always encouraged and supported me, that's how I started taking care of the kids, fell in love and didn't stop. I'm proud of the person I'm becoming, following my goals and dreams.
I gained a lot of experience taking care of children over the years, my first contact being baba was 8 years ago, taking care of a cousin (Yasmin) who stayed at my house when my aunt needed to work and had no one to leave her with, she was very small, so I had to bottle, change diaper, give food, bath among other things. Since then I continued to take care of children, cared for children of my relatives when they needed them or the children of other people too and the years were passing and continued to be always in contact with the children, caring, teaching and learning from them, Always had a lot of affinity and ease in caring for children, facilitates a lot in dealing with them, play, give food, help with homework, take to walk, play in the pool or in the garden and many other activities, child demands attention and it is important to be there when they need it. I learned a lot taking care of children 3, 4 and 5 years old. I've taken care of two children at the same time, their names are Alice and Yuri, she's 4 years old and he's 2 years old, I started at 8:00 in the morning, so I gave breakfast and took Alice to school, stayed home with Yuri, played, bottled, bathed, made food, changed diapers and put him to sleep after picking up his sister from school, so I'd give her coffee in the afternoon and play until her parents got here.
Some of the main reasons that led me to opt for the Au Pair exchange program was that in this exchange we have the opportunity to live in another country with another family with different cultures, customs and different language, which provides us with total immersion, this is wonderful, because they are new experiences and many skills for learning and improving like English, the opportunity to take care of children, teaching, watch them grow and evolve, is an incredible opportunity and a challenge that I am ready to meet.
I hope to meet you soon, it will be a pleasure to live with you, learn your customs and traditions, teaching and learning from your children. I will try very hard to be a good Au pair, I know I am prepared for this new challenge, I know how much this will add and enrich my experience.
