Hello future dear host family! How are you? My name is Amanda, I'm 22 years old and I would love to be your au pair. I'm from Brazil, a very beautiful country in Latin America. I am very grateful for Brazilian culture, as I am a very affectionate, communicative and very happy person, I am very empathetic, I have a very open mind with the people around me. Brazil is a beautiful country and very rich in nature. We have beautiful places that many people don't know about! I was born in a big city called Betim, but for a good part of my life I lived in a city in the interior, called Guanhães, both cities in the state of Minas Gerais. In the state where I live we have the best food, and I can make it so you can see how good it is!
I am currently an au pair in the USA, living in New York State! I've been in the country for 6 months, but because I couldn't adapt to the place where I lived with my host family, I decided to ask to try the exchange elsewhere!
I took care of 2 children aged 3 and 8. We made a beautiful friendship, we played a lot!
My main tasks with the children were: waking them up, getting them ready for school, organizing their backpacks for school, playing with them, giving them dinner, doing the laundry, among others...
Before being an Au pair, I have experience caring for children aged 0 to 13.

I decided to experience this exchange, because I wanted to mature as a person! Improve my English, see places, make new friends and of course, have experience taking care of children, because when I return to Brazil I want to start a pedagogy college!

My family is made up of my father, my mother and my older sister. In Brazil I worked as a secretary in a real estate agency, I had my online candy store and I was also a music teacher! My sweet shop is well recognized by people in my city, I make gourmet sweets. I'm a music teacher, I teach guitar and ukulele. When I was younger, I sang and played at my church. It was one of the things I most enjoyed doing. But as there were many years of worship, I ended up getting tired and stopped playing and singing.

I currently have over 4,500 hours of experience with children ages 0 to 13. My greatest experience was taking care of children at the church where I attended, I had experiences like taking care of calmer children, more restless children who liked to play more.

I don't smoke, I don't drink, I'm fully vaccinated, pet friendly, intermediate English, I love music, I love dancing, singing, playing football, playing with Legos.

When I was 15 I discovered the au pair exchange, and since then I have always wanted to make this dream come true! Visiting the USA has always been a dream for me. Taking care of children has always been something I enjoyed. I started working voluntarily at my church when I was 14 and I have always been passionate about children. My love for them, and their love for me, has always been obvious, and everyone says to me, "What is it about you that makes these kids love you so much?" I DON'T KNOW!
We all know that every child has phases. There are days when they want affection and attention, there are days when they just want to play, and there are days when they have to be patient, because they don't have a good day. Having taken care of children at my church for years, I now know how to deal with children of different ages and personalities. I see this as a positive point for taking care of children, and with the experience of being an au pair for 6 years, I feel like I'm even better at this fun job! I can provide my future brothers with an incredible cultural exchange, as Brazil is a great country, which has a lot to offer. I can teach you how to play an instrument, like I taught my son who is over 8 years old. That would be amazing, right? I hope from the bottom of my heart that you like me!
