Hi, my name is Lucineide and I will say a few things about me in this letter.
I am Brazilian and live in Brasília (the capital of Brazil). I was born in a small town called Imperatriz. I am the only child of my mother and I live with her. My father died in 2006. I always wanted to have brothers, but when my mother gave birth to me, she was already 42 years old and due her age things have become difficult to bear another child.
I came to Brasília in 2011 looking for new opportunities and living here I found out that I love International Relations and my dream is to take this course. But, unfortunately, the course required English Proficiency, and I was not proficient back then. So, I am working on it now, improving my English and that's one of the reasons I am applying for this program. The other motive is that I love children! I think this is so because I Always dreamed of having Brothers and that's why I bond so easily with them. I always helped my older cousins and especially my cousin Deijanes, who I aided recover from the birth of her children Elias and Eron victor. This was a great experience for me and I loved doing it!
In 2007, my mother and I take care of my cousin Jhonata when he was 1 year and 5 months old and he lived with us till 2011. When we moved to Brasília, he stayed with his parents. I would like to have him with us when my interchange is over.
I work as a nanny. I have taken care of two babies: Manuela, 10 months old, and Miriã wich was 2 years old. I have really enjoyed spending time with them, I can actually say I have love them.
I also watched another two sweet girls: Karen, 11 years old, and Eloá, 4 years old, I spent much time with them, taking them to their extra classes, such as ballé, Marshall arts, and others. What I liked the most about this experience was when we prepared the food together and I could see the happiness on their faces after I said we were going to the playground.
and now I am taking care of a four month little princess and I feel so happy to see her growth when she learns to do something on her own like sitting, grab objects and play in bathtube filled with water, and this is so rewarding! I do volunteer service in a church as a teacher taking care of children ranging from 8 and 12 years of age. I love them. Today I volunteer as a secretary and I am always watching them in their activities, helping their parents and teachers with this calling. The part I love the most is to follow the growth of a child and how they teach us as well. And it is so good to spend time with them!
Speaking a little bit more about myself. I am a dedicated, responsible, attentive and patient person. I like hearing and learning with others. I also like going to the Church. In my spare time I like watching movies, hanging out with friends, riding a bike, dancing, reading, using the Internet and take care of me.
I am happy to have the opportunity of participating in this program. I am looking forward to living the American culture, a dream I am cultivating since I was a child and now I realize it is too close to come true. The other great dream is to improve my capacity to read, to listen to, to write and to be understood in English and enter in an International Relations course. I am anxious to know my host family and the little ones I will take care of, lovingly and tenderly!
