Hello dear Host Family ,

My name is Vinicius ( but you can call me as Vini haha) and I'm 22 years old. I was born in Sao Paulo in March 1996. I was raised by my uncles in a very small city called Buritizeiro which is in the state of Minas Gerais, my uncles are 5 to 6 hours away by car from Belo Horizonte, the capital.

As my mom had a a few health issues after she gave birth of myself ( I'm the only child ), my uncles (who I totally consider as my parents, and my cousins as my sisters), offered to my dad to look after me until everything get settled up, but over the years I
ended up living with my uncles for my entire child hood.

I used to see my biological parents every school holidays and had a really good connection with them,
unfortunately, my biological parents passed away a few years ago. After all, I had a really good child hood and I was really well raised.

My family conssists in my dad Renato, who is 60 years old, my mom Helena, who is 64 and my three sisters Carolina (30), Renata (27) and Thaiana (25). My three sisters ( cousins if that is easier for you) , they live no longer with my parents anymore as they got married and are now living in different states, however, they always spend sometime with my parents when they can.

When I graduated in high school I was 17, then I decided to do a course to become a flight attendant which lasted for 3 months, when I reached 18 I started applying for the airlines, I did two interviews for different companies but I did not get any success. As I was not sure of what to study at uni, and not getting any lucky with the carer I wanted to follow, I decided to go travelling. I then, decided to come to
Sydney - Australia, where I have been living for almost four years.

I'm so glad to have made this decision, my uncles helped me and supported me a lot to make this dream of living abroad come true. At first, I planned to stay here for six months ( to study english ), then after the six months, I decided that was not time yet for me to go back to Brazil so I ended up extending my visa, I did four months of cambridge, afterwards I began to study Travel and Tourism which I finished in January - 2018.

I think that now, it is time for me to take off, and have a new experience in a new country, get to know another culture and new people. I think that now is the time to do that hence my experience with children that I got living here. I was an Au pair here for almost two years (for the same family), I had such a great time with them, I learned a lot from my hos family, although I don't live with them anymore,I still go to visit them.

Nowadays I'm working as a 'manny' live out and (that's
what they call the boys who babyssit here haha) for two different families, one of the families is australian and the other is american, and
also had been working at a hotel, in the recreation kids club . I have done lots of different jobs, but the one I have been doing the most, is
babyssitting, and I love what I do.

Living abroad can be very challenging , especially at the age I came here, it has taught me so much. After a few years living here, I
consider myself much more mature, responsible, independent and strong. I've turned into a much better person with this experience.
