Hello,
My name is Sylvie. I am interested in being an au pair for your family for six months starting January 2027. I am on a gap year from university, I have just completed my freshman year in Vermont. My future professional pursuits involve working with children, so I am spending my gap year growing my experience in the field.
This summer, I will be working at a summer camp in Yosemite, California, from May to August. At the summer camp I will be working as a prep cook as well as with children doing activities such as arts and crafts and hiking.
After my summer camp, I will be volunteering in Thailand with underserved children. I will be volunteering at a school in Chiang Mai as well as at a children's home in the Chumphon province for a total of two months.
I have always loved helping the children in my community. I myself am an older sister so I have always played an older sister role for many of the younger children in my community. At community gatherings, I have always tended to gravitate towards the younger children and enjoy looking out for them. I often act as a mother's helper in these events or community spaces. I have a very calm, kind, patient demeanor as well as I'm very imaginative which helps me get along with children well.
My family spent four years living abroad in Europe during my high school years. I love to both travel and learn about new cultures and experiences. It has always been a dream of mine to travel and work in Japan. I am very interested in learning about Japanese culture and the Japanese way of life.
