Dear Host Family,
My name is Evelyn R., and I am from the Philippines. I am a college graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Public Administration. I am the youngest of three siblings, and growing up in a family has taught me the importance of respect, responsibility, patience, and caring for others.
I am writing to express my sincere interest in becoming an Au Pair and to introduce myself to your family. I am open-minded, responsible, hardworking, and willing to learn. More importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and would be happy to support your family in caring for them and assisting with their daily routines.
I have practical childcare experience from taking care of my two nephews while their mother was working. Through this experience, I learned how to be patient, attentive, and responsible when caring for children. I enjoyed spending time with them, making sure they were safe, assisting with their needs, and keeping them engaged in age-appropriate activities.
I also have experience as a tutor. When I was in high school, I tutored two elementary school students every day after school. Tutoring was one of my sidelines at that time, which helped me with my personal expenses. At the same time, it allowed me to develop my patience, communication skills, and ability to explain things in a simple and understandable way. I enjoyed helping children learn and seeing them improve through my guidance.
In addition to my childcare experience, I have professional experience as a Production Operator, where I learned to follow procedures, work responsibly, maintain cleanliness and safety, pay close attention to details, and work efficiently as part of a team. I also have seven years of experience in Human Resources, which strengthened my communication, organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills. These experiences have taught me to be disciplined, adaptable, dependable, and respectful toward others.
I understand that being an Au Pair is not only about taking care of children but also about becoming a responsible and respectful member of the host family. I am willing to learn about your family's culture, routines, values, and way of life. I would be happy to share my own Filipino culture and traditions with you as well.
I am willing to help with childcare and reasonable household tasks related to the children. I am also open to learning new skills and adapting to your family's routines and expectations.
