Introduction
Hi! My name is Charlotte, and I’m from Canada. I’m currently planning to take a gap year before university, and I would love to spend that time experiencing a new culture, meeting a new family, and becoming part of their everyday life as an au pair.
I would describe myself as caring, responsible, patient, and easygoing. I really enjoy spending time with children and being someone they can feel comfortable and safe around. I’d love to be more than just someone who helps with childcare — I want to become a positive role model and, hopefully, feel like a big sister to the children in my host family.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my friends and family, going out, travelling, listening to music, and trying new things. I’m excited about the idea of living somewhere different because I want to experience the culture from a local perspective rather than just visiting as a tourist. I’m also looking forward to sharing my own Canadian culture, traditions, and experiences with my host family.
I understand that becoming an au pair is also about being responsible and helping with everyday routines. I’m happy to help with things like getting children ready, preparing simple meals, keeping their spaces organized, helping with homework, playing with them, and taking them to activities. I’m also willing to help with reasonable household tasks connected to the children.
Most importantly, I’m looking for a host family where we can communicate openly, respect each other, and become comfortable with one another. I know that every family has their own routines and way of doing things, and I’m willing to learn and adapt. I hope to create a great relationship with my host family and make memories that I’ll carry with me for a long time.
