Au Pair job description

Your main tasks will be: bring the kids to the kindergarden or to school in the morning, pick them up around lunchtime, prepare some healthy lunch/ snacks when thy arrive home from school, some light housework (dishwasher, check for mail in the mailbox, clean the table after meals, etc.), go shopping at the supermarket for family needs and last, but not least: have a lot of fun!

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear AuPair, we are a 4-headed nice german family, looking for an open minded and responsible person to spend one year (min.) with us. We we have two kids - one boy born in autumn 2001 and a girl born in summer 2004. We live in a house in the rhineland area, 25 minutes drive from big towns like Aachen, Düsseldorf or Cologne, also the dutch and belgian borders are not far away. You will have quite a lot of time to travel around the nearby areas. My husband has a small company developping race equipment for motorcycles and works from home. I myself am working for a big global company as an mechanical engineer, so we are both engaged full time in our jobs. We are looking for an au-pair to spend time with us as a full member of the family! We are looking for somemone who is really integrated in the family . We also like the idea that our children get knowledge of other cultures and languages, so this is also one additional point why thinking of an aupair and we would like to see if you could kind of teach them. I know that children pick up languages quickly (I myself spent some time in Brazil as a child and learned portuguese after only 6 months and my sister lives in Italy, so from time to time we try to improve our italian language skills as well). As you see from our profile we are all very active and we would like to have someone thinking and acting the same way as we do. We think it is important that you go out at least half an hour with the kids every day, so that they get some fresh air: go for a walk, with the bicycles or city rollers to collect things in the woods. There is no bad weather ;-)) It is only a matter of clothes...
