| Au Pair's Message to Families |
| Hello! I am Meg. I am a very vibrant, active person always looking for the next adventure in my life! I am very independent and confident. I have lived abroad three times previously and I feel as if I’ve caught the ‘travel bug’. I am always looking for an opportunity to live abroad again. I consider myself an “American Girl” in many ways. I grew up in small town Iowa with all the typical values of a farm-girl. My parents and grandparents taught me hard work and honesty from a very early age. In high school, I took advantage of nearly every extra curricular activity available including vocal and instrumental music, student council, speech team, cheerleading, track and basketball and mentoring programs in the middle and elementary schools. My involvement in these activities continues to play a role in my life through my love for music and also in my career as a teacher. After graduating high school, I attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. My passion for involvement didn’t stop at high school and I continued to get my hands into different activities. I made the cheerleading squad and cheered for the Cyclones for two years. I also joined Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women. During my years at Iowa State, I traveled and lived in Puerto Rico and Peru through study programs and feel in love with the outside world and the amazing opportunities that are available outside the USA. I graduated in December of 2006 with honors. After graduation, I moved to Omaha, Nebraska and taught Spanish at Omaha Northwest High. In addition to teaching, I joined the coaching team and Northwest and coached the cheerleading teams for one year. I resigned my position at the end of my contract for the 2007-2008 school year. This past summer, I traveled to Santiago de Compostela, Spain to start a Master’s of Spanish program through the University of Northern Iowa. Upon my return to the states, the temptation to live and work abroad was stronger than ever. I am twenty-four years old and ready to take advantage of the opportunities that are available to me before I start my own family. I currently live in Arizona. If you are a fun-loving, active family, I believe I would be a wonderful fit for you! I am energetic and open to new experiences. Also, if your family travels a lot, I would be thrilled to join your home!
