Au Pair job description

We are looking for Mum's Right Hand! We need an energetic, flexible and independent girl with tons of initiative to be our housekeeper (inc. cleaning) and occasional child minder. Our 3 friendly girls (age 12, 9, 7) attend a school some distance away, so you MUST be an experienced driver to help with school and after-school drives. You'll need to be a good cook or be interested in cooking: we eat healthy and vegetarian (though you can eat meat), so expect fresh, home-made, delicious food and no cakes/sweets/junk/processed stuff. Our girls are independent, but your help will come in handy with homework and with getting them to do their duties. To fit the bill you'll have to be super-energetic, QUICK, no-nonsense, 100% reliable and flexible. You have to have an independent spirit, lots of initiative and a 'you just leave it to me and let me get on with it' attitude. If you can be two steps ahead of the game most of the time, you're in for an interesting ride!

Dear au-pair, We're looking for a win-win situation: we'll give you space, freedom and help with your interests, and you give us honest, energetic and committed help. When trust and friendship are there, we all benefit. You'll find we are an energetic, friendly, busy and interesting international family (English speaking) with lots of friends and action. When you're settled, we'll expect you to take initiative, get on with things without us giving you constant directions, and become mum's right hand woman in all (inc. cleaning). We'll give you all the help you'll need to start with; we'll treat you with respect, like a family member, and will not take advantage of you; you'll have a big, comfortable room and we'll help you settle in and achieve your goals as much as we can. We lead a fairly alternative lifestyle (healthy food, natural healthcare, yoga, interest in spirituality), so if you're into that - please step forward. It helps that we live in one of the most beautiful parts of Holland. If you like cycling and nature with Amsterdam only 20 minutes away, that's your place. The help we need varies but in the main it is a lot less heavy than is required for a typical au-pair job. If you're quick and diligent and get the work done, you'll have plenty of free time, inc. most weekends.
