Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, Hello my name is Ylissa and I am 21 years old. I am currently enrolled in school to further my education in Child Development which. I have 3 years of babysitting experience. My familiarity with children ranges from infants to 8 years old. I would love to discuss my experiences with you more and hear more about what your family is like and what you are looking for in a nanny. My hours are very flexible, and I am available for both part time and full time with reasonable rates. I love working with kids because their creativity and enthusiasm is so inspiring! Going to museums, parks, beaches, library, and on other "field trips" is one of my favorite parts of any babysitting job. I also have no problem doing light laundry and housekeeping; Non smoker. As for discipline, I don't belg on the age, I believe in redirection and communication. For infants and toddlers (depending on what they understand) I believe that redirection is the best way to go. For toddlers 2 and up, I believe that communication is the key to teach the child exactly what the problem is and how to fix it together. I pride myself in having a lot of patience when it comes to dealing with upset and frustrated children. Talking the problem out in a calm way, that really works wonders!
