| Dear Family, My name is Lucy. I am a 26 year old Australian girl currently living in the United Kingdrom, moving to Germany with my husband who has just been offered a new job in Frankfurt,from January 2010, and so I am looking for a friendly family who would like me to help them care for their children. I am looking either for a live out position or a live in position (if you are happy for my husband to live in also)
I am a fun loving and bubbly person originally from the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia. I studied commercial cookery and Hospitality when I left high school and after a few years, decided to go out and see the world. I travelled to Thailand and Bangladesh then headed to Europe travelling with my parents before working in Scotland for 6 months. I then went back to Sydney, Australia where I worked supporting people of all ages with disabilities eventually becoming a manger responsible for managing a group home for people with disabilities which I did for 3 and a half years before moving to Brisbane, Australia with my husband when he was offered a new job opportunity. At this time I worked as an Administration Assistant in the Management e department store where I was the personal assistant of the Store Manager. I did this for 1 and a half years, when we decided that we would like to live in Europe. We then moved to England where we have been for 15 months. My husband has now been offered a job in Germany which we are very excited about as this will be an opportunity to live in a beautiful country, learn a new language and experience the wonderful German culture. In my spare time, I love to get outside and enjoy keeping active, walking in the mountains, bike riding, swimming, running- anything that gets the heart pounding. I have also got into skiing since we moved overseas which is great fun (something I don't get to do very much in Australia) I also like sitting down and reading a good book, playing board games or competing with my husband in play station games (he makes these as part of his job) I also like cooking and writing poems and short stories.
I come from a big family and have been surrounded by children since I was little. I have looked after my brother's and sister's children for extensive period's of time and found that it was great to build a rapport with the children and to see them develop and grow. I love children and spending time with them and would love to be able to do this on a regular basis. I know that my fun loving nature and love of being active will make me an enthusiastic companion for the family that I hope to be a part of. I am also very organised and so would be able to keep the children to their routine in an efficient manner. I am patient and relate well to children and so would be able to assist them with homework and other tasks that they would need to undertake. I am also happy to assist the family with the housework and other chores that need doing. I do not drink or smoke and have my driver's license.
