| Dear Au Pair:
We are looking for someone to help us out on a flexible basis with our 13 year old son and also sometimes assistance for his mother (more below). Sometimes we will need full time help -- other times we will need part time help, so if you have an open flexible schedule that is a huge plus.
As the result of an illness, I (the mom in the family) have become incapacitated. It means that I cannot drive and need help getting to medical appointments - it also means that I need help with buying food at the supermarket and preparing dinner. We are not expecting gourmet food! We just need some help getting food on the table, because my husband comes home tired and too worn out to cook.
We're hoping to find an active person who won't be content just to sit our son down in front of the TV set, but who will also take an active interest and be a good friend to our son. For the most part, Alex is a well behaved child. He has a lot of interests. Most important to us is reliability and peace of mind knowing that our son is safe and well taken care of. Sometimes we will need some help getting Alex to finish his homework.
As for work hours, the ones that are certain are daily from about 5 pm to 7 or 7:30 pm and if available, other times of day, to help me as I need someone to drive me to see various doctors. There may be days when we need someone a couple of hours and other times when help is needed most of the day. I sometimes need help getting downtown where my business is located.
So if you are a student with flexible time or if you are working with a family that doesn't need you during the hours written above, I hope you will get in touch. We need someone who is a driver with their own vehicle and obviously we will pay for gasoline used driving. Please do not hesitate to ask questions, and let us know if you are interested. We need more help than ever as a result of my illness and look forward to hearing from you.
We live in Potomac, a suburb of Washington, DC. |
