Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are a partly Dutch, partly Australian family with two sons, aged 4 and 2. We are expecting our third child at the end of January 2010. We speak Dutch and English at home. We live in Hampstead, a great part of London. Our house is situated very conveniently: the tubestation, the highstreet with shops and cafés, parks and the school/nursery of our boys are all within walking distance (5-10min). My husband and I are both lawyers. I stopped working when we moved to London this Summer. I expect to start working again/studying when our baby is 6 months to 1 year old. We enjoy sport (tennis, fitness and the boys football), spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, traveling and visiting museums and other sights in London. There are so many fun and interesting activities in London. We are really enjoying our time here. We are looking for a mother's help (see the explanation below) who will work approx. 35 hours a week.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear prospective mother's help, We are looking for a mature, responsible, energetic and intelligent mother's help who will join our family for at least a year. "Mother's help" is a term used in England for someone who has already worked as an au pair or who has experience working with children. We are looking for someone who really likes children and enjoys spending time with them. We think it is very important that our mother's help has fun with the boys. We will ask her to take them to the park/playground, pick them up from school/nursery, play football with them, read to them and play with them. We also want our mother's help to have a teacher's attitude: to do interesting things with the children, to help them with their English (they are currently learning English), reading, etc. In addition, we are looking for someone who has experience with babies/young children (as our third child will be born in January). I will be home alot during the first six months/year, but our mother's help will sometimes be alone with the baby. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
