I have been caring for children for as long as I can remember. I started as a family sitter when I was about 10-years-old which, through word of mouth led to me being the local sitter. Taking care of kids is just something I am naturally good at and enjoy doing. Helping children grow and learn is very beneficial and inspiring to me. I guess you can say it's my passion.

I initially began my college career in the fall of 2008 with an Early Childhood Education major and an art minor; I had always wanted to be a kindergarten or first-grade teacher and loved art. I'll be honest, going from a high school that was one building with about 250 kids total to a college of 35,000 students was an overwhelming adjustment. Talk about culture shock. I let two semesters pass by before I realized I wasn't certain if I wanted to go that route anymore. After going back and forth on which career path I wanted to take, I realized my best bet was to just get all of my general courses out of the way.

My first nanny job was for an Elmhurst family that lasted three years. I watched their daughter from kindergarten until second grade. I would pick her up from school, drive her to any after school activities she had, and help with homework.

I babysit for a Downers Grove family with three kids under 6 with another due in July. I babysit for this family usually once, maybe twice a week depending on what errands or events/dinners the parents have going on. Daytime sitting usually involves playing outside/inside depending on the weather, coloring, having breakfast/lunch, and some relaxing downtime. Evening sitting which sometimes includes overnight care, consists of playing, feeding, bathing, and a movie or reading books before bed. I have also traveled with this family to Mexico, Florida, and often to their lake house in Wisconsin.

My current full time Monday- Friday nanny position is in Naperville for a family with four boys (3, 8, 11, 13). I have been with this family since August 2012. I mainly have the 3 year old and we love day excursions to museums, parks, and the river walk. We spend a lot of time playing sports, doing puzzles, and his weekly classes (swimming, arts and crafts, gymnastics, t-ball, and soccer). I set up his weekly schedule and like to keep him as active as possible. When the older boys return from school, it is time for homework, reading, and snack before they have all their sports to get ready for.
