Hello future family! I am a Norwegian girl who is looking for a au pair position for the school holidays of 2013 (and 2014 probably), (mostly the summer months and perhaps the winter semester). I will be moving to New York and am interested in finding a live-in postion for summer vacation and possibly other school holidays. Having been an au pair before and worked a lot with children here in Norway, I feel like I can consider myself pretty good with children. Now that Im back in Norway, I work in a day care center full-time (kids aged 0-6). I speak English fluently and I'm a great driver. My hobbies and interests include travelling, reading, running + exercising, photography, webdesign, experiencing new cultures and learning new languages. I love traveling and have traveled extensively in Europe, as well as the US. Here in Norway, I have work experience from daycare centers/kindergartens and a health care center. I volunteered at a children's camp 2 summers. I also have my own webdesign company which I started in 2005. When I worked for my previous host family in the US, I was responisble for getting the kids up and ready in the morning and sometimes driving them to school. I also worked afternoons and evenings where I helped with homework, drove kids to activities, and prepared healthy snacks + dinner and put them to bed at night. Other duties included: Keeping boys' bedrooms and toys organized and doing laundry + changing bed sheets. Parents were stay-at-home, so they were present a lot of the time, however there were times I was responsible for the kids when parents were out of town/out of the country. I also traveled quite a bit with the family and worked a pretty flexible schedule while traveling. I am interested in au pairing anywhere in the US. I have lived in the US for almost 4 years before (au pairing and studying) and absolutely love the country. I am not a member here yet, so please feel free to look me up on face book.
