Au Pair's Message to Families

My name is Kate, and I would love to come and be your au pair! I am 22 years old (I will be 23 in December), and by the time you meet me, I will have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. I have never worked professionally in childcare, but I have been an au pair once before. I spent about four months last spring with a lovely Irish family, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. In addition to that, I have been babysitting for several years, and have also worked with children as a teacher's aide and a children's choir teacher. I absolutely love both children and animals and have been told I "have a way" with both. I would be happy to do whatever is required to help out both with the children and around the house, including housework, pet care, homework help, driving, and anything else which might need doing. While I am by no means a chef, I am capable of following a recipe, and would be happy to help with meal preparation, as well. In the fall of 2010, I will be applying to Pre-Medical programs to help prepare me for Medical School, so this will probably be my last chance to travel for some time. My first au pair position was an amazing experience, and I would love the chance to do it again before I devote my life to medicine!
