Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are looking for a young lady to assist us in child care. We do not require a full time commitment and most days would be free to study, explore the nations capital, work or ???? Duties will include: -Ensuring that our boys have had breakfast prepared themselves and gotten to school by 8:00 and 8:30 respectively. -Being at our home to meet our 7 year old at 2:45 daily -Preparing afterschool snack and assist with homework as required -Occasionally preparing and giving dinner to both or only the 7 year old -Occasionally preparing the 7 year old for bed -Occasional overnights (without us) are possible but not frequent -Some evenings and week-ends are required -Due to the nature of our work there will be some short notice at times however we will give as much notice as we ourselves have and most evenings will be pre-scheduled. -Some light housework may be requested -Some pet care (2 Shih Tzu's)

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Hi There! We are a normal family and I believe we are pretty easy going. Both my husband and I believe in not spoiling our boys but raising them to be respectful, responsible and self reliant in an age appropriate way. We really would like a situation with a young lady who would like to have a part time caregiving job which will afford her the opportunity to pursue other interests such as school or another part time job. A place to stay (we have a separate apartment set-up in our lower level) can also be worked into our arrangement. It is very important to us that you be able to work in Canada, read, write and understand English. Communication with our care giver and a willingness to work together with us is more important to us than the years of experience she may have.
