| Dear Host Family,
My name is Arada , you can call me “Tan”. I am a 24 years old Thai girl from Buriram province, which is in the northeast part of Thailand. My family has 4 members, dad, mom, older brother, and I. My parents are the government. My brother, 26 years old, working for Hitachi company. Since our family is small, everybody share a responsibility in the house. I am responsible for cleaning the house, doing dishes and parents’ clothes, and taking care of the plants. I start to learn how to drive in August 2005. I usually drive in a city. My mum likes me to drive for her to the maket or buy stuff from the supermarket in every evening.
I have got a Bachelor degree of Engineering. My major is Environmental Engineering from Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen province. When I was a high school student, I was a studnt committee of the school. I used to work in Napho Hospital for Environmental technician and I found the way I want to be here, I want to have my own lovely nursery school because at the hospital I had take care many children for my co-worker. (They are my co-worker’s kids) I love children and I can keep them happy. I think childhood is very important step of their life. They need one who can take care and grow them both body and mind.
I am interested in yoka and some sports. I like watching movies, traveling, reading books, meeting new people, arts and crafts, taking photos and cycling. Sometimes, I often play softball with my friend from university. I am active, generous, patient, friendly, easy going, honest, gentle, maturity, warmth, reasonable, has a sense of responsibility and has a lot of sense of humor. On the same hand, I am enthusiastic and keen to learn new things around me.
I would like to become an au pair because it will give me the opportunity to learn more about the culture and traditions of other country, improve my English language skill, gain experience to further a futher career and become more fulfilled as a person. Besides, I am ready to be in the new environment and new culture because it is a challenging thing to learn. When I return to my home country at the end of program I will get work in nursery school and get study about chilcare in open-university. My long-term plan is to have my own lovely nursery school.
My childcare experience; During October 2006 – December 2007, I had take care 2.5 years old boy, Book. He is a very lovely boy, everyone who see him always love him. My main responsibility with him was prepare his meals, feed him and let he eat by himself, take him to toilet, take him to bed and playing more activity with him such as puzzle, painting, guess thing’s name and colour and cycling for him. Sometime I had take care his older brother too, his name is Boss, 9 years old. He is a very sweet boy all I have to take care him is just prepare his meals, help him to do homework and play game with him.
During Febuary 2008 – April 2008, I had take care 4 months old boy, Trikhun. He is a very big lovely boy, his weight when he newborn is 4,000 grams. He is very easy to babysit, he just eat,sleep and smile all time when he is awake. My main responsibility with him was prepare his bottle, feed him with bottle, burp him, change his diaper, put him to bed and play with him such as peek ka boo and sings a song. During May 2008 – July 2008, I had practiced with the group of children 2-4 years old at a nursery school. This class gives me more experiences. The teacher of this class teaches me about how to manage time for a group of them and how to handle many children.
