Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Host Family, I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and right now I'm living in chicago, Illinois as au pair. I look for being glad with life, I am so affecting and friendly, I like to make friends. I am very communicative and this makes me to knowing other people whereever I go . I am also detailed person, I like to make the good and certain things. I usually go to the church on Saturdays because I am Adventist, there we have the Saturday school, where children and adults learn about Jesus Christ. I think that one of the main things to keep order, inside home or with friends in all places is the communication, everything can be decided with a dialogue, nobody gets an agreement fighting and shouting to the other, when we are in trouble the better things is to talk about it. Well, I don't have problems living with a family in United States of America. I love talking and making people around me feel good with my presence, I have a taste for cheering people in any place (maybe my future work can be as a clown, in a circus!lol!). I do not like to see sad people to whom I will always be able to help, exactly in some moments that we can not make many things, it’s good for me staying near the person, even without say a word, only staying beside the person to show she is not alone. I have many cousins and they are all children and I love being with them. In all meetings, we enjoy ourselves too much. Children in general are lovely and funny and I identify myself with them just because of it. I was an instructor of the adventurers, that is a voluntary work and I make it all Saturdays in my church, with children of 6(six) to 10(ten) years old. There I teach and learn so much with them. I give instructions about taking care with the nature, the animals, and about loving and helping all people of the world without discrimination. I also give instructions about encampment as to set a tent. I love camping and most of it I also love learning and teaching very activities about this matter. I love sports. My favorits are Volleyball, surfer and capoeira (typical brazilian sport). A good experience that I had was with Ana Carolina, a wonderful girl that I take care since he had 8 years old to 10 years old. I take care of her from monday to Friday. I come home in weekend. Her mother goes out early to work and only comes back at night. I woke up her, I gave her the breakfast and helped her to wear her clothes. I led her to school and I had the lunch prepared while she was in the school. Aften I searched her in the school and gave her lunch, she rested enough time on order to make the house work. Then I explained the homeworks for her as if we were playing in a school, I placed her dolls for being her room friends and with it she liked to study. When she took good notes, I made popcorn and watch television or made a picnic in house or something to commemorate her grades. It was very pleasant! With this, she studied more for to be always commemorating. After studying, she stayed playing until seven p.m.,then I took her a bath and later I gave her a supper…waiting for her mother getting home from work. Because we passed much time together, we turned ourselves best friends, it was so wonderful that she came to my house in many weekend, and with it, my family also loved her and we got a good relationship. We keep contact until today by phone, by Internet or by visiting each other. I'm here in US when I took a good experiencie as au pair! My schedule here is basically to drive and keep the child stuff in orden. Lauren is 13 years old and Noah is 11 years old. I'm a good driver and I'm very responsable about the car. The family never had problem about arrive drunk in home or bring bad person inside because I respect a lot the family, the house and myself! My visa is J1 but I would like change it for student. I was interest in take a college degree in US but for it, I need more time here and my contract finish in feb. 26, 2008. I love my xperience as au pair once that i love stay with children and i have time to study too. I Would Love to be in Chicago where i love so much and I already have a lot of friends.
