Nanny job description
Single working mom needs help managing household, getting children ready for school, ensure homework is done, and assisting in other activities. Can be live in or not. Could be ideal arrangement for college student or older person desiring part time work. Speaking Russian or Spanish is a plus. Some overnights may be required and are negotiable.` Although we are currently living in the Seattle area, I expect to move to northern Virginia, probably Falls Church in the next 30 to 60 days. I really need to have a nanny to help organize the move and continue on after the move.

Family's Message to Nannies
Dear Nanny, I am looking for someone to assist me as my children go through very challenging ages. I would love to see you as part of our family as an older, mature sister/sibbling or as an "Aunt Bea."

My children were adopted from Russia in 2000 and were abandoned by their birth mother. As a result they don't always react well to discipline. When I need to be heavy handed, such as they need to go to school, I need to have someone to support me by talking to the children more gently about the need to do the "thing" such as going to school.

There are also times that I need to travel for work; this is rare. I normally get more than a weeks notice and sometimes the dates are flexible. This may be covered by an overnight at the house or coordinating the children staying at friends houses and getting to school.

There may also be times that I need to get away for my own mental health. This would be worked out similar to a business trip.

Although I am asking for light housekeeping from you, I would also expect that much of the light housekeeping is done by my children as the chores they have been assigned. Your job would be to try to keep them on top of things so they don't run behind. With my younger child, she often does better if you at least start the task with her.

Although speaking another language is not required, speaking Russian or Spanish is a plus because I would like to have my children have some continuance of their Russian heritage including their language. My youngest has lost her Russian and my oldest is starting to lose it. Spanish is desirable because my youngest is taking Spanish in school and is struggling. Since it is beginning Spanish, it does not require a lot of language skills to help her study.
