Au Pair job description

Your primary job will be to take care of our two children at times when both mom and dad is working. We both have shifting working hours and therefore need you to be flexible particularly on these shifts. When Mum is having 24 hour shifts at the hospital you will be alone with the kids, you´ll have to pick them up from daycare, do the cooking, put them to sleep and bring them to daycare again the following day. This happens approx. 1-2 times pr. week. When Mum is working daytime, she will pick up the kids and do some of the duties at home, unless we make another arrangement. Sometimes in the evenings, when the kids have been put to bed, you´ll have to look after them for 1-2 hours when Mum is out of the house. During the day we expect you to do light house cleaning and sometimes the cooking total we expect 30-35 hours of work a week. So with the 24 hour shifts taken into account, there will be some days off to explore our culture, language etc. or whatever you desire.

We are looking for a independent, strong and openminded girl, who can handle two small children alone when we´re off to work. We are a tolerant and down-to-earth family, who enjoy living in the present. We are both dedicated to our jobs and need you to be the extra help, when having changing working hours. Since you´ll have to spent time alone with our children, it´s important that you consider it carefully and feel safe by the responsibility of being alone with them. It´s very important for us to create a good relationship to you, we´re curious to get to know you and your culture and look forward to involve you in our lives. About us. Dad (an airlinepilot) is absent 5-6 days a week, and Mum (doctor) is working 1-2 nights a week, sometimes 24 hours shifts. We both have scedules 1 month ahead, so we can plan your days off etc. Our children. Thomas (3 years old boy) is and openminded an fun boy who likes to play, and sometimes sit alone in his room listing to music. Malou (9 month old girl) has a strong and kind character. She smiles a lot and is generally very easygoing. Salary. We offer 2500 DKR (about 460 USD) pr month. In addition to that there will be free room, all food paid for and free use of high speed Internet. We offer strict privacy in your room, so you can feel home here.You will be required to fund your own teleexpenses and other personal items such as shampoo, toothpaste etc. We will be helpfull in setting up an Internet connection which make it possible to make calls abroad very cheap. The House and local area. We live 3 km north of the centre of the city of Esbjerg which is the 5th largest city of Denmark. There are many opportunities here to explore things. It is important to us that you do feel well treated and to form an openminded and fun relationship to you. We concider it as a cultural exchange experience.
