| We found your profile on gre. Here's a brief description of the job
We are an American family living in Berkhamsted just outside London (30 min on the train) looking for an aupair who is FLUENT in English, can drive, is legal to work in the UK and is organised and neat. We are looking for someone to start Jan 2010 (we can be flexible on dates - earliest - Dec 09; latest Feb 2010)
This is a slightly unusual au pair job as our kids are older (Jake 16, Lexa 21 at Oxford) but our past au pairs have considered it a fantastic position (we are happy to put candidates in touch with them) for someone who wants to work or study and needs a place to live. Basically we need someone who wants to be part of our family, and help us run the house. I work alot so need another pair of adult hands take care of shopping, cooking, laundry running Jake to school etc. All of our au pairs have found the job really manageable and fun. The job is about 25 to 30 hours/week and allows for a good amount of freedom to do what you want on your time. Nights and weekends are free.
The benefits of our role are many - flexibility, fun, feeling appreciated, a lovely home with nice people, use of the car, privacy etc. We are a neat, organised, relaxed family - and need someone who fits with this. We also enjoy having young people around so someone living in our house is something we see as a great thing - and we have plenty of room (a large house with 6 bedrooms, 6 reception rooms) so everyone has their own privacy as well. Au pair will have her own sunny room with TV, DVD and laptop computer hooked up to the internet.
Please do not apply if you are not fluent in English and cannot drive. We'd appreciate it if you would answer the following questions in your response:
How well do you speak English and how long have you been driving? How well do you fit the requirements listed above How much do you plan on earning per week for how many hours? Pls send photos and any application/personal statement/references that you have that weren't part of what you sent the Au Pair agency.
We look forward to hearing from you, Syl |
