| After reading some of the complaints ive decided to explain my situation with this family and why i said that. First when i got there i was really happy to find another family here in norway because i really wanted to stay, but as the days went by i noticed something fishy was going on, because au pairs are supposed to be helpers and not maid or mothers, like they for example after dinner id find the plates on top of the table wouldnt even bother to put it on the sink and expected me to do that
all even if here in norway au pairs are entitled to work 5 hours a day n id clean after dinner and such... on the first week i told him to fill up the contract so i could take it to the police twice but i kept finding the contract on top of the table and i was in a very complicated situation so i needed the contract to be hand in to the authorities fast but he didnt seem to have any interest in doing so,
the first weekend i was expected to be paid but that didnt even crossed his mind even if i repetdly told him i had no money and i needed so, so i had to ask him for my pocket money.
i had the feeling he just wanted a woman in the house to do "what women are supposed to do" then he told me he called the udi and it would be a tough task for my situation to get the contract and so on what he didnt tell me was he called twice and the first time he called he was told i could stay as long as my case was being processed.
On top of that feeling like a maid and being deceived i had no privacy.
This week he finally spoke the truth just last wednesday and told me he wouldnt be needing an au pair any longer so i just left and he wasnt even thinking of paying me cos i was standing on the door saying i was leaving and i had to ask him if he was going to pay me or not and he paid me less than expected because he said i had only worked for two days (monday and tuesday) and we were on wednesday so he also expected me to work on Easter holidays. so well i guess its another lesson learned. |
