However after Lauren worked for us for 1 week at an agreed weekly wage, she had questioned the rate and apparently had a miscommunication. After further discussion regarding wage we reached an agreement on wage which even included a generous increase. Lauren also stated that she did not plan on quitting and that she was very happy with our arrangement and if she ever thought she would be leaving she would give at least 2 weeks notice if not more. We then received a very rude phone call from her mother stating that the wage was unacceptable and that Lauren would not be showing up to work on the next day or ever and then hung up on me. After calling back to speak to her mother and request to speak to Lauren, her mother stated that Lauren refused to speak to us and was very unprofessional and insulted both my wife and me. We were under the impression that we were hiring a fantastic nanny and not her mother/representive. I would say that if you were to consider hiring this young lady, I would make sure and clear all arrangements thru her mother before you end up without child care suddenly, unexpectedly and without notice.
