On March 6, 2009 we registered him with the authorities as living at our address and went to the Employment Office to procure a work permit. He did not receive a work permit due to insufficient German, for which he was tested on the spot by the employment authorities. This made it necessary for me to find a new Au Pair to start on March 13. He was supposed to come on the 2nd of March but first came on the 5th. He is a smoker, although he writes in his profile that he is a non-smoker, he is not experience nor capable of interacting on a responsible level with 3-year olds (the main responsiblilty of the job). Even if he had received a work permit, I would have been forced to fire him as he did not fulfill the requirements of the position, although he made us think that he did. He would not leave my home nor sign the deregistration form. I had to telephone with the Romanian authorities and with the German police before I could successfully get him to leave. I had a friend bring him to the Romanian Consulate, since he said that he did not have sufficient funds to return to Romania. His stay here has completely disrupted my schedule in both the family and my professional responsibilities to my clients. I will have to deregister him myself by signing the form that he is no longer living at our address.
