She confirmed the travel and start date we proposed, and we purchased the air tickets priced at EUR250 (non refundable). I travelled by car to Frankfurt airport (over 400km return) to meet her, but she did not show up. In fact she had decided not to come but did not give us any advance warning whatsoever. We have two children and we need au pair help. If we had known, we would not have wasted this time and money, and would not have had false hopes about her coming. We are quite upset, and we feel this attitude shows a lack of consideration and respect, and we would hope that no other family encounters the same experience.
