We were in desperate need for an au pair and were offered by our au pair agency, Aysin, who was being moved on from another family that she had been with for about 3 weeks. and needed a family to stay with. We knew that we were not going to get a reference from the previous family due to sudden departure but as we were so desperate we thought that it might work out for a couple of weeks until we found the right girl through the agency. When she came she fitted in to our family very well and we thought that we would offer her a permanent position in our family. After only a couple of weeks with our us I found her looking for another job but she just acted a little dumb and said that she was confused that we wanted her to stay, believable enough. She gave us a hug and said she had not understood and that she was really happy and wanted to stay with us. Two weeks later one of my children said to me that Aysin was leaving us the next day and was going to tell us tomorrow. I said no I think you have got that wrong but she said no mummy her bags are packed. I went to see Aysin and made up a story that she thought we had a new au pair starting. She is very good at smiling and lying her way through situations. I asked her if she could call her boyfirend and tell him that she couldn't leave immediatly as we needed a little bit of notice so that we could get ourselves sorted out but intstead she called him to say come and get me now. That was the last we heard from her. She is a heavy smoker, she has only been in the country since August and has only a few weeks au pair and child care experience. I found photographs she had downloaded on to the computer of her wearing my clothes lying on my bed. She took nearly 700 photographs of herself and put them on to the computer. She made my husband feel very uncomfortable when she was on her own in the house with him. We paid for her to go to english language college but we found out that she did not attend but took the money. The childred told us that they were really scared with her driving as she went far too fast and did not stop at junctions. I do not know where she is going to get any references from as the only 2 families that she worked for will obviously not be prepared to offer one.
