| We hired Ashley as our nanny almost two months ago. We paid her approximately $320 a week in advance after taxes and 1/2 of health insurance premium for 30-35 hours. We also provided her a $600.00 GPS system and a credit card in her name for household purchases only. One Friday, the battery on her car died and she mentioned she did not have money to get a new battery and that she may need to use one of our cars on Monday to get the children. We said no problem. However, she called that weekend (she managed to have the money to go to a party out of town) to say that our GPS had been stolen (she admitted leaving her car unlocked and the GPS on the dashboard--after being warned not to do that). She promised a police report but has never provided one so we don't know what happened to the GPS. Then, on Monday, she informed us that her "guy friend" illegally used our credit card for a battery for her car and signed his name. She apologized and eventually repaid the money for the battery. Three weeks later, on a Tuesday, after having been paid for the week, she called complaining that she was not paid enough for the work she does and wanted more. To make a long story short, we informed her that we no longer needed her services and expected $200.00 back for the remainder of the week. She promised the money but has since not returned calls or messages. Ashley was late for work 90 % of the time, running 10-15 munutes late, always with an excuse. I caution anyone using her. By the way, we are filing a claim in court for the refund. |
