BE WARE OF ASHLEY EDWARDS. SHE SAID THAT SHE WAS IRISH BUT WAS WITH A HOST FAMILY IN CAMEROON. SHE ASKED ME FOR £ 370 TO PAY FOR PART OF HER FLIGHT. WE AGREED I WOULD DEDUCT FROM HER SALARY EVERY WEEK. I SENT HER £ 370 + £ 32 CHARGES = £ 402. SHE THEN SAID SHE HAD TO HAVE SOME VACCINATIONS & ASKED FOR £ 223 MORE. I REFUSED & URGED HER TO SEND MY MONEY BACK. SHE HAS NEVER SENT THE MONEY BACK.

We too have apparently gotten scammed by Ashley Edwards. Her references were wonderful so, against our better judgement, we wired her money (250 Pounds) to help pay for her plane ticket. On the day she was supposed to arrive, we received an email from her "current host family" saying she had been in a car accident and wasnt able to fly. Now she is "waiting to pay for her hospital bills" and her passport "is being held by the hospital as insurance that she will pay". I am supposed to go back to work in one week and now we are left without anyone to care for our children!

My family has also been in Contact with an alleged Au pair named Ashley Edwards. The Story Line is exactly the same. In Correspondence to her she indicated that she didn't have enough money for flight from Cameroon to Germany. Reluctantly our family sent her money (via western Union). The day she was due to arrive we received an e-mail from her host family which stated she had been in a bus accident and was in the hospital. (the even sent hospital pictures) Because of this accident Ashley wasn't able to come as expected. The next line was that Ashley had deposited her passport as collateral to ensure that she would pay the hospital bill prior to leaving Cameroon. Another email later we were asked again to pay the hospital bill. We knew not to send money again and thankfully we found this post also. So we have cut all ties to this Au Pair. ***To all who may see this be very cautios in dealing with a person posing as "Ashley Edwards" I would further say be extra cautios in dealing with anyone claiming to be from Africa.***
