| During the many months prior to Lillian coming to Canada as our nanny, she seemed to be a warm, family oriented person, but once she arrived her actions were very cold and distant. She did not seem able to relate to my son. I had to teach her how to interact with him and how to read to him. She said during our communications that she wanted to be a part of the family yet we came to learn that she hated having dinner with us.
It seemed to us that her main focus for coming here was to find a man because within 2 weeks of arriving she was dating a man she met on-line. Within the brief time she was with us she had involvements with three men, all of whom she met on-line. She refused to respect our home values when asked to either come home by 3:00 am or stay out until the next day. She wanted to come in whenever she pleased without realizing her actions woke up the dog which then wakes us up.
Lillian had three accidents with my car within 4 months and I had to pay over $5000 to get it fixed. We are still waiting for reimbursement from her for the cost.
Despite all her negative behavior or circumstances, I was committed to her and the contract of 2 years. Unbeknownst to me, Lillian began looking for a new family, which I found out by accident. I confronted her as soon as I became aware of this and gave her the choice to leave on an agreed upon time frame. I thought we had come to an agreement but like everything else she did not keep her word. She told me one day she was leaving, four months prior to the agreed upon date.
I also came to learn that she took my car and my credit card and used them without authorization. Finally, I had to call the police to remove her from my house because she refused to leave. Instead of leaving with all her personal belongings that she came with, she left with one small plastic bag. She told the police that she had planned to leave and had already taken out her personal belonging.
I provided Lillian with copies of the labour law when she first arrived so that she would know her employment rights. I was always up front with her. Everything I did was written so that she would be protected. The day she left, she twisted everything and threatened me. She said she just realized I had misled her. How can you be mislead when you are given the law to read and be informed!!!
Lillian should not be considered for a nanny position because of her inability to relate to children and to deal with people in a professional and honourable way. She has shown herself to be untrustworthy and unrealiable to me and my family. |
