She stayed on for only 2 weeks. Instead of interacting with the kids, she was busy sending text messages, sending IM, and surfing the web. This impeded her household work and I had 2 incidents with my children: they ran out of the house unattended and they painted the carpet in the playroom because Laura had other priorities. The ABSOLUTE WORSE part about this whole story is that she left us without notice and without discussion and without a viable reason, an extremely immature act. She merely sent me a text message indicating that she "won't be able to pick my kids up" from their schools, with only a 1/2 hours notice. When I got home, there was a note on the door saying that she "had to quit the job". She had packed her belongings and left. Not only did I have to scrabble to pick up the children, I am also in a bind until I can find a replacement for her. I do not suggest bringing this woman into your home.
