Introduction
Hello! I'm Oshaun, a UK-qualified Primary Teacher with over four years of experience teaching and tutoring children across KS1 and KS2 in both the UK and the UAE. I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and currently work as a Primary Teacher and Science Lead, delivering engaging, high-quality education that helps children develop academically and personally.
I believe that every child has the ability to succeed when they feel supported, understood and challenged at the right level. My teaching is centred around building confidence, nurturing curiosity and creating a positive learning environment where children enjoy learning and are encouraged to think independently.
I specialise in English, Mathematics and Science, with experience supporting children in reading, writing, phonics, spelling, grammar, comprehension, problem-solving and exam preparation. Whether your child requires additional support, wants to strengthen key skills, prepare for assessments or needs greater challenge, I create personalised learning plans that are tailored to their individual needs, goals and learning style.
My lessons are interactive, engaging and carefully planned to keep children motivated. I use practical activities, educational games, real-life contexts and questioning techniques to deepen understanding rather than relying solely on worksheets. I believe children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process and feel confident enough to make mistakes and ask questions.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, including learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL). This experience has enabled me to adapt my teaching effectively, ensuring every child receives the support and challenge they need to thrive.
As a classroom teacher and curriculum leader, I understand the expectations of the British Curriculum and know how to prepare children for success both inside and outside the classroom. I also recognise that academic progress goes hand in hand with developing resilience, organisation, communication and independent learning skills.
I value strong relationships with both children and parents. I provide regular feedback on progress, celebrate achievements and work collaboratively with families to ensure each child reaches their full potential. My aim is not only to improve academic outcomes but also to help children develop confidence, self-belief and a genuine love of learning that will benefit them for years to come.
If you are looking for a patient, dedicated and experienced tutor who will tailor lessons specifically to your child while making learning enjoyable, I would be delighted to support your family. I look forward to helping your child grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve their very best.
