We are looking for a dependable and compassionate caregiver to support an elderly family member in a private home.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
• Assist with daily routines and gentle reminders
• Help with dressing, grooming, and personal care when needed
• Prepare simple meals and encourage regular eating and hydration
• Provide supervision and help maintain a safe home environment
• Assist with light laundry, dishes, and tidying related to the senior
• Accompany the senior on walks or appointments when required
• Provide basic care for a small, friendly dog when needed

Special requirements:

• Must be comfortable supporting a senior with early-stage dementia
• Must be patient, respectful, reliable, and attentive
• Must be comfortable around a small dog
• Must be able to work independently in a private home
• Must respect the senior’s dignity, privacy, and personal routine
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
• References, identification, and a background check will be required

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous senior-care or dementia-care experience
• PSW, HCA, nursing, or caregiving training is an advantage
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prepare simple meals
• A driver’s licence is an advantage but not always required

The main need is daytime support. Full-time or part-time arrangements may be considered. Schedule and compensation will be discussed based on experience and availability.
