I have been a caregiver most of my life. My experience started with my grandma who went blind when I was 10 years old. I was the youngest and least occupied so I was sent to stay with her. She raught everything domestic. As the years went by she became bed-ridden and my mom and I took care of her until she passed.
Next my Dad developed Alzheimer's. In the early stage of his illness I did research and found herbs and supplements that kept his brain functional for almost 11 years. Sadly at 86 the illness finally brought him down mom and I took care of him until he died.
During this time my husband developed hyperthyroidism. Through reasearch I found a way to use diet to restore my husband's health.He is off all medication for over 20 years now.
My mother was hypertensive and diabetic. After my father died I took her to live with me. Through diet my mother's Type 2 diabetes went into remission and she did not have to take anymore tablets up to her death ten years later. Her pressure was also brought down and was sometimes normal so I had to monitor her to see when she needed the medication.

After my parents died I was employed as paid caregiver during the summer and on shift basis on weekends for approximately 15 years.

I have also worked with SEN children and was taught to administer physical therapy to those with spastic muskes on a daily basis. Some showed much improvement and I was commended on a job well done.
So as you can see I have honed the skills as a caregiver over the years. The only thing I have not done is administering inhections.
