Animals have been in my life ever since I was a toddler. I grew up with dogs, cats, chickens and other birds.
My husband is from India and I also lived there for a while. Him and his family raise buffalo for milk and they keep five, (previously) stray dogs, that we helped care for.
We are currently in Portugal, living with my parents, helping my mother care for my dad while he was sick. My mother takes in stray dogs and currently has 5.
Having had 4 dogs of my own (Alsatian, terrier mix, Aussie Shepherd and Aussie mix), in the USA, years ago (they have all since moved on peacefully), as well as taking in strays and helping them recover from starvation etc before taking them to a shelter, I can honestly say I have a lot of personal experience with dogs, but also some with cats and smaller birds and chickens.
I was born in Portugal, raised in the UK and lived most of my life in the USA.
In the US I had my own house cleaning business for years and also worked for a house keeping company where I worked for multiple clients on a weekly or bi weekly basis. Most of the work involved general house cleaning and maintenance and some required laundry or running an errand. I was not required to cook meals but I have previously worked as a home help aid doing light housekeeping work and simple meals for elderly clients.
More recently I was a self employed massage therapist and also worked at a chiropractors office and as a massage and bodywork therapist with focus on natural healing.
I have also worked as a gardener in England, working as a trainee gardener on a large country estate in Devon, and at a country house and family owned plant nursery, also in Devon.
My husband and I love working with animals and plants, growing food. I'm comfortable with housekeeping and cooking. We eat organic, natural foods. My husband is vegetarian but I eat fish, and no meat. I practice yoga and Pilates 5 days a week.
We would be happy to travel within Europe to the right working situation and family. We could either work as a couple or I could work and my husband could pursue his own online work and studies. We will consider long term or short term work.
Currently, I am a voiceover artist, for audiobooks, YouTube, eLearning and meditation videos. My husband does the audio and video editing. This is part time work.
We are quiet, spiritual, nature loving people and a noisy, chaotic environment would not suit us. We do not drink or smoke and do not wish to work in an environment where there is smoke or heavy drinking.
