I am a highly motivated individual who are very efficient and attentive to details. I am dedicated and prepared to go the extra mile. During my many years working as a Senior Course Coordinator at the Law Society of South Africa and subsequently at Adams & Adams Attorneys I have developed the ability to work independently and as a team. I am focused and very set on deadlines and completing several task in a well scheduled and timeously manner. I have learned to multitask and to work with clients in a professional and courteous manner. I received "Cultural Awareness" training and completed various courses during my lifetime. I am always prepared to learn new tasks and to train in order to better myself. I currently reside in a rather remote area on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. This means that there are not many job opportunities where I reside currently. I have applied for several jobs, however, have been told that I am “overqualified” in regard to these job opportunities. Alternatively, I would be able to secure a job in Durban, which is the nearest metropolitan city on the coast. This, however, would require me to drive approximately four hours daily if I was to take up employment there. This, paired with the fact that I have animals at home that require my care may become problematic, and is an unsustainable option for me at this time. Residing in South Africa for the entirety of my life has presented unique opportunities as well as skills that I believe will be beneficial in any workplace. A few of which include sensitivity training, a broader understanding of multicultural context, a deep comprehension of equality and the value it holds in the work environment, and thorough experience in community service and outreach.
Additionally, my prior work experience as stated in my CV, has allowed me to become familiar with a large workload and time constraints. This will prove valuable in high-pressure situations within a work environment and makes me a reliable candidate to any company. Furthermore, I have worked remotely for my previous employer during evenings, as well as over weekends. Thus, making remote work the ideal option for me. Moreover, I have access to high-speed fiber and solar powered electricity, which eradicates the issue of loadshedding. This is an issue us as South Africans face, however, will not be a problem for me. My daughter currently attends university in Gauteng (a neighbouring province in South Africa). This allows me to focus my energy and dedication towards my work to a higher degree. In addition, I have access to a well-functioning laptop and internet, and am familiar to working with Zoom, Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive. I believe that this will be necessary.
