Hello! We are a couple in our 30s with a busy and fun-loving 22 month old daughter, and second baby due in May. We run our own business which can often be quite demanding, so we are looking for someone to help look after our children and ensure our household runs smoothly.

The position is live-in with accommodation available the beautiful eastern beaches suburb of Clovelly, just a short stroll to the beach.

We are seeking first and foremost an experienced nanny with an honest, caring and gentle attitude who takes pride in their work. We would also like the person to have experience in housekeeping for when there is downtime from the nanny duties (ie when mother or grandparents are looking after children). About the role

Your role will be first and foremost to help look after our daughter (currently 21 months) and newborn (due in May). The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for infants and children and competent in keeping a clean and organised home. The nanny duties will take key priority at all times.

The housekeeping duties include things such as grocery shopping, cooking, tidying, organising cupboards, staying on top of dishes and laundry which will include ironing, folding and putting away clothing as well as general errands for the family such as walking our dog, dropping off dry cleaning etc. Some meal planning and preparation will also be required.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assisting with caring for toddler and newborn (mother will mainly be around especially in first few months after new baby arrives, but there may be times when she is out);

Planning and preparing meals during the week;

Ordering / buying groceries ;

Household chores and light cleaning, ie

Washing up after all meals

Linen duties such as bed making, washing, folding and ironing of bedding and clothing

other tasks as required

Skills and experience

It is essential that candidates for the Nanny / Housekeeper role meet the following criteria:

Valid Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

First Aid and Infant First Aid Certificates
Knowledge in nutrition and a love for preparing healthy meals

Valid Criminal History Check (or willing to obtain)

At least 2 years full time experience as a nanny and in child supervision, ideally in similar live-in roles

Be honest and willing to stay long-term

Be positive, self-motivated and confident

Education or Child Care Qualifications will be treated with priority

A driver's license is preferred

Be extremely trustworthy and maintain a high level of confidentiality

Have high attention to detail and a keen eye for presentation and cleanliness

Very high standards of hygiene both personally and professionally

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required and to travel interstate and/or overseas

Excellent references

Must have permanent residency OR a visa to work in Australia for at least 12 months from date of application. We are ideally looking for someone to commit on a long term basis.

The successful applicant will be hard-working and discrete with a positive and friendly nature. Non smokers; no pets; no children/partners/dependents living with you. They will need to be able to cope with an initial busy induction. Working hours may vary considerably based on the family's travel arrangements.
