I have worked as a daycare teacher where I cared for children of different ages, supported their learning and created a safe for them every day. I have also been an au pair for two lovely families, and those experiences taught me so much about becoming part of a family's daily life and building trust with children.
But if I’m talking about the experience closest to my heart, I would say being a big sister to six amazing siblings is what shaped me the most. Growing up, I naturally took on a caring role and helped with many things from helping with routines and schoolwork to comforting them, playing with them and simply being there for them. I think that experience made caring for children feel very natural to me because it never felt like a responsibility only it felt like love.
