Dear Host family ,

My name is Nicole and I am currently 22 years old .
I am from a beautiful city in South Africa called Cape Town .

My hobbies include: Family time , swimming , hiking in the mountains , reading books , watching movies and especially documentaries as I enjoy and have a passion for history.
I can cook as well which I enjoy doing and baking too :)

I too secretly enjoy cleaning ! I love tidying up and deep cleaning it’s always been something I enjoy especially when I would like to have my mind focused and not too clouded or when I feel a little under pressure one thing about me that you should know is I love a tidy space !

My highest form of education would be matric where I obtained a bachelors pass . After school I wanted to go straight into au pair but then decided to start working at a restaurant and I managed to move out of my parents house when I became the manager in a short space of 6 months at only 19 years old ! I say this with such modesty as I am a hard worker I always have been and for that I’m proud of myself. During high school I also worked part time summer jobs at the water slides so I can swim too and I can ride a bicycle which I did very much when I au paired in the Netherlands! So anyway :) after my management position I had a slight change on the way I saw life and I was not really enjoying what I was doing even though I was good at it so I decided to peruse au pair as I knew I always had a passion for kids aswell as travel and I thought why not and I just fell inlove with it !
I have done a first aid course while I was in the Netherlands aswell as a Dutch course , so I am confident in speaking Dutch with the kids if that is a requirement :)

At the moment I live with my older brother Steven and his fiancé Tiana .
I am from a blended ( by race) and loving family ! We always make time for one another all year round especially on the special occasions like Christmas, New years and birthdays !
Growing up my brother and I experienced a separation from our mom and dad as they decided on a divorce, but that did not stop them from putting us first , they shared custody and always made time for us and I think that is where my passion to become an au pair stems from as we had Nannie’s from time to time especially during school holidays or when both our parents had to work . But the difference was our nanny would just feed us , bath us and make sure we were safe which is very important don’t get me wrong , but she never really invested time with us like playing together with us , asking us how our day of school was and doing homework in a fun way to get us excited ! Or teach us to share and take us swimming or on walks . This was something we always longed for especially me being a girl and it is something I want to give back through being an au pair ( for the second time ) .

All in all I have a supportive family I have two grandmothers left and some aunts , uncles , cousins and even a nephew and niece !
They are always there when I need them and as the saying goes: “That’s why family should always come first” !
My immediate family being my mom, dad and brother are really happy for my interest of traveling abroad as both my mom and dad met when they both traveled to work abroad in Israel (where my mom did au pair ) and my dad worked in a store . So they are all hands on deck and really motivating me to keep traveling!
